Ever been to a site and can never find what you want? Yep - been there too! Well at Mad Math, we’ve now implemented the TiddlyWiki as our site searcher. We’ve cut down its functionality since we only wanted it to index our pages, but this is a very powerful piece of work and you might just like to try it out. Anyway, our site searcher is here - check it out!

So if you feel like writing (and you can earn some money with it) pop along and check things out. If you want to visit my hub, you can read some of the things I like to write about … Cheers!

The most recent addition to our site courses is a paper on Finding Complex Roots. This paper looks at how to find the complex solutions of equations using slide rule techniques and discusses methods of solution and graphing. A MathML version is also available, but you will need MathPlayer from Design Science - a free download.

I’ve just finished reading a brilliant article by William Robinson on Slide Rules with Hyperbolic Scales. A lot of people may not see the significance of a slide rule with hyperbolic scales (or even a slide rule), but this article tells all. A very informative and exciting article and I would recommend you downloading and reading it.
I really enjoyed this article and produced a Java Applet with Geogebra to illustrate the relationship between the hyperbolic functions as pictured in this article on page seven.

As you may have guessed from the title, this has nothing to do with slide rules. Just for a little moment - How about some spiritual enlightenment when Alice meets Aquinas.
